Cogne lace Pillows
This lace is a type of course Torchon made in an unusual way. It is a "freehand" lace made without a pricking similar to Scania or Skansk lace. This unusual pillow is a tombolo type which is an open cylinder (22"-24") in circumfrence. It is held on a special stand with a stick through the pillow and another below, which holds the pillow off center as shown. The short bobbin has a bulbous end, and a double head which shows it's French origins. |
